Jack Lynch (2nd left) who trained under Declan Barrett this summer in DFEi has won a medallion of excellence in the Cabinetmaking competition at WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan, Russia. Additionally, Declan Barrett has been elected as Deputy Chief Examiner of the WorldSkills International competition for WorldSkills 2021. All in all, Team Ireland placed 10th out of 60 countries. The team won four Gold medals, 1 bronze medal and 7 medallions of excellence. Congratulations to both Jack and Declan.

The Irish WorldSkills team arrived home from Kazan last Thursday evening with four gold medals, one bronze medal and seven Medallions of Excellence placing Ireland 10th in the overall team rankings.
Jack Lynch who competed in the Cabinetmaking competition completed an intense 13 week special training programme in DFEi prior departure to Kazan finished in 6th place and earned a highly coveted Medallion of Excellence. Well done to Jack and all the Irish team!!
