Jack Lynch (2nd left) who trained under Declan Barrett this summer in DFEi has won a medallion of excellence in the Cabinetmaking competition at WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan, Russia. Additionally, Declan Barrett has been elected as Deputy Chief Examiner of the WorldSkills International competition for WorldSkills 2021. All in all, Team Ireland placed 10th out of 60 countries. The team won four Gold medals, 1 bronze medal and 7 medallions of excellence. Congratulations to both Jack and Declan.
DFEi Teacher Declan Barrett has adjudicated in the Worldskills competition many times. This is a fantastic achievement. 2021 Worldskills competition takes place in Shanghai.

Celebrating 10 years of Furniture Design and Making, Siting Pretty showcases the astounding flair, creativity and innovation of pas and current students. The exhibtion in Dun Laoghaire Lexicon library rus until June 23rd.
The opening ceremony for the "Sitting Pretty" exhibition will take place in DLR Lexicon library on Thursday 23rd. Live demos from 6pm. The exhibtion celbrates 10 years of furniture design and makeing in DFEi and we are delighted to have exhbits from current and past students.

DFEi welcomed visiting Erasmus students from Rinteln, Germany. The students are studying Nursing and joined our Nursing students for some classes. They are here for five weeks and are working in local healthcare facilities
